The interior minister and the Red Crescent Society director will head the delegation, Mohammadreza Rahimi stated.
He added that Hojatoleslam Ghayouri and Rahimian, the Leader’s representatives at the Red Crescent Society and the Martyrs Foundation will be accompanying the delegation, IRNA reported.
So far, Iran has sent 200 tons of humanitarian aid to Pakistan, but it does not suffice and the delegation’s mission is to determine what types of aid is needed, he noted.
Rahimi expressed his deep sympathy with the Pakistani government and nation over this natural calamity, urging the Iranian nation to help the Pakistani people.
Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani also called on MPs to participate in delivering aid to people affected by huge floods in Pakistan.
Larijani expressed his heartfelt condolences over the devastating floods, saying so far 120 lawmakers have expressed their readiness to help the flood-stricken people in Pakistan.
The United Nations warned Monday that up to 3.5 million children were at risk from water-borne diseases in flood-hit Pakistan and said it was bracing to deal with thousands of potential cholera cases.
Described as the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today, the three-week disaster has affected 20 million people, and has destroyed crops, infrastructure, towns and villages, according to the Pakistani government.
A third of Pakistan is now under water, and fresh rainfall threatens two more waves of flooding in the southern Sindh province.
